Technology
Enrichment Training is a five-day program for participants interested in
learning about careers in technology-based fields. Most activity is
hands-on and students focus on a technology project. The students
will have a better understanding of their education and the many
opportunities that they have after finishing school.
Core Lab: Students spend 15 hours during the week learning about opportunities in the field they are most interested in. Students participate in a group project to help focus on their field of interest. The core labs offered in the 2003 Technology Enrichment Training program were Communications, Culinary Arts, Fire & Rescue, Robotics, and Drafting. Exploratory Lab: Students are introduced to a variety of technical careers by participating in these labs. The exploratory labs offered in 2003 included Horticulture, First Aid, Fingerprinting, and Photography. Field trip: One day during the week, the core lab takes a field trip to learn about the kind of conditions professionals in their field work under. At the end of the week each core lab presents their core lab project!
