MINOR HOME REPAIR PROGRAM

The Minor Home Repair Program performs repairs to assure critical health and safety of the residents. This may include roofs, heating systems, ramps, electric systems and water heaters. Maximum amount of grant/loan per household: $1,000.00. Some matching funds are required from the owner.

Indoor Plumbing Rehabilitation

The Indoor Plumbing Rehabilitation Program provides grants/loans to low and moderate income owners or occupants of substandard housing that lack complete plumbing. Either indoor plumbing does not exist or existing water delivery or waste disposal systems have failed. The program also provides rehabilitation, accessibility improvements, as well as indoor bathrooms.

Owners must live in the home. 80% of the area median income.

Priorities
Families lacking indoor bathrooms. Disabled persons, families with small children, elderly, female-headed households and large families. Income below 50% AMI.

Rehabilitation Specialist Services

People Incorporated provides Rehabilitation Specialist Services services to Southwest Virginia towns, counties and Planning District Commissions. These services include housing condition assessments, work write-ups, cost estimates, work drawings, bid documents, on-site bid conferences, bid reviews, construction management, work site inspections, and approval of payments to contractors.
