Early Head Start is a center- and home-based child and family development program for pregnant women, infants and toddlers that provides education in the areas of pregnancy, childbirth, infant care, health, child development, family development, and parenting. The program also provides nutrition services, disabilities services, group meetings and transportation to local service providers and agencies.
Service Area
Buchanan, Dickenson, Russell and Washington Counties and the City of Bristol,
Virginia. Serves 80 children.
Eligibility/Income Guidelines
Low-income pregnant women and families with infants and toddlers (age 0-3
years) 100% Federal Poverty Level. 10% of total enrollment may be over the
OMB income poverty
guidelines.
Priorities
(1) Pregnant women and (2) children with disabilities.
