The Comprehensive Health Investment Project (CHIP) home visitors provide health care and family support services for families with children ages birth to six years and expectant mothers who are Medicaid-eligible. They help parents find a "medical home" for their children, linking them with local physicians and dentists, and educate them about health care and child safety at home. Children are screened for developmental and medical problems. CHIP partners with the Mount Rogers Health District and private physicians.
